What To Expect

After facial surgery, you can expect swelling of the skin and soft tissues.  Generally, most of the swelling (80%) resolves within six weeks.  Your incisions will continue to change for about 12 months, however.  There is generally a period of redness and swelling in the incision that improves slowly over time.

Arnica Montana taken before and after surgery can help decrease the severity and the duration of bruising and swelling.  The exact mechanism is unknown, but this magic wonder has anecdotally been very helpful in facial plastic surgery.  Buy some before your procedure and make sure to start about one week before surgery.
